PURPOSE
Foothills Search and Rescue provides response to wilderness emergencies when searching for, providing medical assistance to, and rescuing people who require help in the backcountry.
RESPONSE REGION
We respond to areas of southern Kananaskis Country, from Bragg Creek to the Highwood region, as well as the communities of Nanton, Diamond Valley, Okotoks, and High River.
HOW TO REQUEST
If you are in an emergency, call 9-1-1, or activate an emergency beacon (SPOT, InReach, etc.) if outside cell service. Tasking agencies will request our assistance as needed.
HELP FOOTHILLS SAR TODAY
Foothills SAR is always, and will always, be a free public service run by professional volunteers. Unfortunately, running this free service costs upwards of $50,000 annually to ensure professional training, vehicle maintenance, computer maintenance, building upkeep, and equipment costs are maintained. By donating to Foothills SAR, you are providing money directly to help keep our professional first responder service available, free of charge, to those in need. Always.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Foothills SAR respects that we are situated on the traditional territories of Treaty 7 peoples. For countless generations, the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot Confederacy), Tsuu T’ina, îyârhe Nakodabi (Stoney Nakoda), and Métis Nation of Alberta peoples have made this land their home. Foothills SAR works towards stronger understanding, honour, reconciliation, and partnership with the Indigenous Nations that we serve.
